The news of the death of Robert “Bobby” Denis, which occurred on October 14, 2025, has shaken the Haitian media and cultural world. President of the National Association of Haitian Media (ANMH) and a visionary former technician, Bobby Denis leaves behind an indelible mark on the history of media and music in Haiti.
“The ANMH received the news like a hammer blow, even though we knew Bobby had not been well since suffering a stroke. After three weeks, he never really recovered. The doctors didn’t have an encouraging diagnosis. Despite everything, we hoped his condition would improve. But that was not the case. Bobby left us on October 14,” said, with emotion, Richard Widmaier, CEO of Radio Métropole and vice president of the ANMH, speaking on Magik 9 on Thursday, October 16.
