A key player in the establishment of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), the Group of Eminent Persons of CARICOM wrote this week to the signatories of the April 3, 2024 agreement to obtain their positions regarding the end of the CPT’s mandate on February 6 next year.

Since December 2024, the CARICOM Eminent Persons Group has been urging the sectors that participated in the creation of the Transitional Presidential Council to engage in consultations about the future of the CPT. The virtual meeting held on July 1 was yet another opportunity for CARICOM envoys to raise awareness among Haitian stakeholders about the need to reach a consensus before the end of the CPT’s mandate.
