The National Port Authority (APN) is under maximum alert because of an attack on the Port-au-Prince port facilities on Friday, November 21, 2025. Gunfire in the vicinity and repeated attacks since Monday against armored vehicles transporting staff to work have been reported, Le Nouvelliste learned.
“The APN is under maximum alert because of gunfire recorded near the port this Friday, and because of an attack repelled by security after a breach in a section of the perimeter wall at La Saline by a truck whose driver was killed by bandits,” explained the APN’s director general, Jean Evens Charles, in an interview with Le Nouvelliste on Friday late afternoon.
