“The Board of Directors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has approved a package of 243 million U.S. dollars in non-reimbursable financing for Haiti for the 2025–2026 fiscal year,” stated the IDB representative in Haiti, Corinne Cathala. She made these remarks during the inaugural conference of Audit Week at the El Rancho Hotel. “Of this amount, about 149 million dollars have been approved for projects in the areas of education, health, and youth inclusion,” continued Ms. Corinne Cathala.
The IDB representative in Haiti says she expects concrete impacts in education by resulting in better-equipped schools. In health, she is counting on the strengthening of health centers and on opportunities for young people across the country. Ms. Corinne Cathala announced the opening of an incubator in Cap-Haitien that will allow young people to present their projects in order to secure funding if their business ideas are convincing and solid. This incubator is already operating in Port-au-Prince and offers opportunities to young people from all corners of the country.
