Established in Haiti in 1875, the Congregation of the Daughters of Wisdom now celebrates 150 years of service. To close this jubilee, a mass was held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Saint-Pierre parish in Pétion-Ville, in the presence of the sisters of the congregation, representatives of the Sacré-Cœur Institution, as well as many faithful who came to mark the end of the jubilee. A commemoration marked both by recognition of the path traveled and by the pain of trials, notably the recent fire at the Institution du Sacré-Cœur de Turgeau (ISCT).
In his homily for the occasion, the auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince, Monsignor Wismick Jean Charles, praised the perseverance of the religious sisters while inviting them to remain vigilant and committed despite the obstacles. “Your mission is greatly tested, difficult and painful. But you must carry it out with responsiveness and preserve it with fidelity,” he declared.
