The Dominican public prosecutor’s office has arrested four officials from the Leonardo Da Vinci school in connection with the investigation into the death of young Stephora Anne-Mircie Joseph, 11 years old, which occurred on 14 November 2025 during a school outing to Hacienda Los Caballos in Gurabo.

“Yris del Carmen Reyes Adames, administrative director of the school; Gisela González, general coordinator; Francisca Josefina Tavarez Vélez, guidance counselor; and Vilma Altagracia Vargas Morel, secondary-level coordinator” are the individuals arrested for involuntary manslaughter, according to a press release issued on Saturday, 6 December 2025 by the Dominican public prosecutor’s office.
