Like many other artisans expected at this major cultural event, Lenor Baldomère had to overcome enormous difficulties to take part. Traveling from Léogâne to Pétion-Ville took him nearly three days due to insecurity, which made certain roads inaccessible. Part of the journey even had to be completed by boat.

“Because the roads were blocked, I was forced to leave Léogâne and go by boat from Petit-Goâve to Port-au-Prince. I took the boat on Saturday and arrived in Port-au-Prince on Monday to drop off my pieces,” he said on Magik 9 on Thursday, December 18. He regrets that several other artisans, like himself, would like to make the trip but are unable to do so.
