Bercy, located at the entrance to the commune of Arcahaie, has been the scene of clashes between law enforcement forces and bandits for several days. This Monday, according to the mayor of Arcahaie, Wilner René, an operation involving several units of the Haitian National Police, assisted by brigadiers, took place on Monday, January 4, in the afternoon. “The objective is to dislodge the criminals occupying Bercy. We are in the process of pushing them back,” the local authority said, without being able to provide an initial assessment of the operation.

Wilner René explained that the security situation has repercussions on vehicular traffic along National Road No. 1. According to him, traffic is blocked notably in Montrouis and Arcahaie.
