Haitian security forces have dealt another blow to illicit arms and ammunition trafficking networks in the northern part of the country. In less than ten days, two separate operations carried out at the Port of Cap-Haïtien and at the Quartier-Morin terminal led to the seizure of a small arsenal and the arrest of several individuals suspected of involvement in international firearms trafficking.

The most recent operation took place on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Cap-Terminal S.A 2 (C.T.S.A 2) in Quartier-Morin. Investigators from the Northern Brigade for the Fight against Drug Trafficking (BLTS), assisted by the Customs Surveillance Brigade and Customs agents, conducted a targeted operation on a container arriving from the United States, identified under number ASJU5884650 and shipped by the agency D CARGO.
