The theme of the 2026 National Carnival is already known. It was unveiled by Secretary of State for Communication Bendgy Tilias on Friday, January 9, 2026, on his X account. “The official launch of the carnival season, a moment of cultural communion and the exaltation of identity, is set for Sunday, January 18, 2026. The theme chosen for the 2026 edition is: ‘Ayiti Devan! Haiti Forward!’ It embodies a collective desire for rebirth and self-transcendence,” reads his post.

In an interview with Le Nouvelliste, the Secretary of State said that the government is currently reflecting on how the festivities will unfold. “For the moment, given the context, we do not know whether a city will be designated to host the national carnival or whether we will provide financial support for festivities through the municipal governments. We are analyzing both scenarios. A decision will be made shortly,” the Secretary of State indicated. He also assured that the Jacmel National Carnival will indeed take place as usual.
