The security situation remains frozen in the metropolitan area. Over the past few days, the Haitian National Police (PNH) has carried out several operations in certain sensitive areas, notably in the Bel-Air neighborhood. While these interventions have not yet led to the capture or elimination of major gang leaders, they have nevertheless helped curb the expansionist ambitions of armed groups entrenched in their strongholds.

As hopes have begun to emerge in recent weeks for the return of displaced persons, a new project aimed at rehabilitating areas attacked by bandits has just been proposed by Sant Karl Lévêque (SKL). Entitled “Return to the Neighborhood,” the program seeks to reshape neighborhoods such as Nazon and Solino, and to build housing there with a view to the gradual return of the population under better conditions than those that existed before the attacks.
