The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Me Patrick Pélissier, stated that the retaking of the capital is already underway. He praised the dynamism of the new command of the Haitian National Police (PNH), Vladimir Paraison, and referred to the continuation of collaboration with the private security company engaged by the government.

“The reclaiming of the capital is already underway, considering the tangible advances made by the law enforcement forces. After the airport area of Carrefour, Delmas 19, and Nazon, we are now in the process of clearing Magloire Ambroise Street. A large part of Port-au-Prince’s administrative center has moved from red zone to orange and soon to green, but this will not stop there, as we are now operating in the strongholds of the bandits,” he told Le Nouvelliste.
