“I am leaving the CPT with mixed feelings, because there are certain projects we had planned for Cap-Haïtien that were not carried out,” Fritz Alphonse Jean acknowledged. He notably pointed to the persistent lack of sanitation in the country’s second-largest city, an issue he had hoped to advance further.
Despite these regrets, Mr. Jean claimed several concrete achievements. He cited, in particular, the reinforcement of the Croix-David battery, at the entrance to the Citadel, which he considers “extremely important.” “We allocated sufficient resources in the 2024–2025 budget for this project,” he explained, also mentioning the restoration of the Anténor Firmin House and other redevelopment works currently underway.
