The wreckage of a Florida-based aircraft carrying two Americans was found on Friday, February 6, 2026, by a rescue team conducting helicopter searches in the mountainous area of the Grand’Anse region. At this stage, it is difficult to determine whether anyone survived the crash, which left the aircraft scattered in several pieces across a rural area in the south of the country. The plane crashed on Thursday while flying in poor weather conditions.

On Friday, February 6, Hero Client Rescue deployed two helicopters carrying four Haitian SWAT police officers and two rescue workers to search for the aircraft, which reportedly had two U.S. citizens on board, after it failed to arrive in Les Cayes following its departure from the city of Jérémie the previous day under adverse weather conditions. According to a statement from the National Civil Aviation Office, search operations were launched in the early hours of Friday. However, it had been impossible to intervene the previous day due to the early sunset, the OFNAC specified. “The National Civil Aviation Office (OFNAC) remains fully mobilized and will provide updates as soon as new information becomes available.”
