In December 2019, as he was leaving his position as national team coach, Marc Collat gave an interview to journalist Enock Néré of Le Nouvelliste. In it, he reviewed his tenure and shared his analysis of Haitian football.
When asked whether he was leaving with any regrets, the coach listed several and made the following observation: “Finally, I regret not having succeeded in bringing players like Jean-Kevin Duverne or Kevin Augustin Bellegarde into the national team. Their arrival would allow the team to move up a level, but it is complicated to attract them, as they play in clubs at a higher level than ours, and we would need to change our approach to bring them in. The future performances of the senior national team will depend on the contribution of these high-level players.”
