After recalling its personnel who were providing close protection for former members of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) and senior State officials, the high command of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd’H) has ordered its troops to move to Condition D. This is a situation of maximum alert that signals imminent military operations on the ground as part of the fight against criminal groups terrorizing the population, particularly in the West and Artibonite departments.

“In anticipation of imminent military operations on the ground, the High Command orders the transition to Condition D for all military units and organizations across the entire national territory, effective Monday, April 6, 2026,” the FAd’H high command stated in a memorandum published on April 2.
