The Prime Minister and the head of U.S. diplomacy made a brief appearance before journalists’ cameras before holding a closed-door meeting.

According to a statement from the State Department spokesperson, Tommy Pigot, Marco Rubio reaffirmed to Haitian Prime Minister Alix Fils-Aimé the United States’ support for Haiti’s stability and security. “The Secretary welcomed the progress made in the deployment of the Gang Suppression Force and reaffirmed the need for the rapid implementation of its mandate,” the spokesperson for the U.S. State Department stated.
