Following the international break, FIFA, the global governing body of football, released its traditional world rankings. With 1,480 points, Haiti, ranked 49th out of 197 countries, sits between Romania (48th) and Thailand (50th). The country has gained one place in the FIFA world rankings published on Tuesday, April 21.

The United States (2nd), Canada (9th), Mexico (27th)—which is also Haiti’s next opponent in the Concacaf Championship in November—Jamaica (41st), and Costa Rica (42nd) are the five Concacaf nations ranked higher than Haiti in the FIFA world rankings.
