The administration of Donald Trump supports “a multi-year reauthorization” of the HOPE/HELP programs in order to support stabilization efforts in Haiti, informed Deputy Principal Spokesperson of the State Department Tommy Pigott in a statement released following the meeting between Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, in Washington, on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

“The Secretary also reaffirmed the administration’s support for a multi-year reauthorization of the HOPE/HELP programs to support stabilization efforts,” the statement indicated.
