Başkent Ampute FC has etched its name in capital letters in the history of amputee football by winning the first edition of the EAFF Europa League in Ankara. The Turkish club defeated Poland’s Śląsk Wrocław (2–1), securing the very first continental title of this new interclub competition.
This victory marks an important milestone in the development of amputee football in Europe. Organized by the European Amputee Football Federation, the EAFF Europa League was launched in 2026 to expand competitive opportunities at the club level and to complement an ecosystem already structured around the European Championship of Nations and the EAFF Nations League. It is part of a broader dynamic of gradual professionalization of this rapidly growing discipline.
