The case is making waves online. Osnel Antoine, a member of the Mirebalais bar, was apprehended by agents of the Direction centrale de la police judiciaire (DCPJ) within the premises of the Court of Appeal of Port-au-Prince. A dramatic arrest for this lawyer, who is being prosecuted for serious acts of forgery and use of forged documents.

According to the case file, the lawyer was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by investigating judge Benjamin Félismé for dispossession, forgery, and use of forged documents. After several summonses went unanswered, the magistrate decided to take a firmer stance by issuing, on October 21, 2025, an arrest warrant against the alleged perpetrator. It took until the end of April for the lawyer to finally be apprehended.
