“That is absolutely false,” a source close to Royal Caribbean Cruise Line told Le Nouvelliste, reacting to fake news claiming that the vessel MV Hondius, operated by Oceanwide Expeditions, aboard which cases of Hantavirus had been confirmed, was heading toward Labadee in Haiti.

“Not only is it false, I simply do not understand why anyone is trying to associate Haiti with this ship. The events are taking place very far, very far from the country,” another source questioned by Le Nouvelliste on Thursday, May 7, 2026, continued.
