Woodensky Pierre, the only member of Haiti’s national football team currently playing in Haiti, obtained his U.S. visa on Monday, June 1, 2026. He will now join the national team and participate in the World Cup. The Haitian Football Federation, which shared the news with Le Nouvelliste, is still working on other pending visa applications.
“Everyone is aware of it. There is no concern. He has an appointment at 10 a.m. on Monday,” a source told the newspaper before Pierre’s visa interview, noting that this was the very first issue raised by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé during his meeting on Friday with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, who was visiting Port-au-Prince.
