The Haitian national football team, making its return to the World Cup 52 years later, was defeated 1-0 by Scotland on Saturday, June 13, at Gillette Stadium in Boston, Massachusetts.
In their opening match of the tournament, Haiti faced Scotland, widely considered the least formidable opponent in Group C, which also includes Brazil and Morocco. Earlier in the day, Brazil and Morocco had played to a 1-1 draw before the Grenadiers took the field.
