Haiti can have regrets after an eventful match against Scotland, according to Patrice Dumont, who believes the two teams largely canceled each other out in open play. In his view, the fate of Group C remains wide open after the first round of matches.

In its first World Cup finals appearance since 1974, Haiti lost 1-0 to Scotland after conceding a goal in the 28th minute. Sports journalist Patrice Dumont expressed disappointment following the match. He believes the Haitian national team could have hoped for a better result based on the performance it delivered. “The Scots were very fortunate to leave with all three points. In terms of play, the two teams neutralized each other: neither was truly superior to the other,” he analyzed. He added that Haiti had opportunities to equalize, particularly on Frantzdy Pierrot’s late header, a ball that was “too finely glanced.”
