Invited to the Panel Magik program on Monday, June 22, Kesner Pharel stressed the need to increase the national team’s market value. Comparing Haiti with other national teams in the region, notably that of the United States, he emphasized that Haiti still has a great deal of work to do in this area.
To achieve this, the economist believes that the national team must have more players competing in major European leagues. He also specified that the squad’s average age should be under 30. He further recommends regular participation by Haitian teams in international competitions, particularly at the under-17 and under-20 levels, the Olympic Games, and World Cups. Mr. Pharel also stressed the quality of local training and the export of talent.
