After several weeks of negotiations between the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), the government, and political parties close to the administration, the electoral decree was adopted on Thursday during a Council of Ministers meeting, a government official told Le Nouvelliste.

“The amendments made to the electoral decree following discussions with the Electoral Council and the political parties were adopted during the Council of Ministers,” the government official told the newspaper. He added that the document had been sent to the National Printing Office for publication in the official gazette, Le Moniteur.
