Kenscoff. Thursday, July 9, 2026. Robin resembled a morgue. By late afternoon, an intervention by the police and community security brigades succeeded in pushing back the bandits. They left behind a trail of death and devastation. Law enforcement officers discovered eight bodies inside a house not far from a tap-tap station. Three had been burned. The remaining five—the bodies of four men and one woman—were still awaiting recovery, Kenscoff Mayor Massillon Jean told Le Nouvelliste.

The operation also led to the rescue of a woman who had been held hostage by the bandits. “She was freed and taken to the hospital,” the mayor continued, adding that local residents dragged away the body of a bandit who had been shot and killed by the police. Speaking to Le Nouvelliste from the scene, Mayor Massillon Jean noted that security forces still had to advance toward other parts of the Robin area.
