Six years after the creation of the BRH Fund for Research and Development, and three years after the first edition of the Scientific Days of the BRH Fund for Research and Development (FRD-BRH), the Karibe Hotel hosted, on Thursday, July 23, and Friday, July 24, the second edition of these meetings on research, innovation and development in an enchanting atmosphere. Nearly every sector of Haitian national life appeared to have gathered at the event, which was organized around three objectives: to highlight the results of research supported by the FRD-BRH, promote dialogue among the various stakeholders in the scientific community, and promote research as a driver of innovation and sustainable development in Haiti.
“Research in the Service of Development: Optimizing the Production and Use of Scientific Knowledge” was the highly revealing theme around which the second edition of the FRD-BRH Scientific Days was organized. The event brought together a highly diverse audience in which nearly every sector of national life was represented. Representatives of the public administration, the private business sector, international organizations, entrepreneurs, researchers, academics and schoolchildren—including the young geniuses of Educare Haïti and Collège Catts Pressoir—took part in this flagship activity on July 23 at the Karibe Convention Center, either in person or by videoconference through digital platforms dedicated to that purpose.
