After launching the electoral process on July 20 in the country’s nine other departments, the CEP is now turning its attention to the West. The official launch took place on Thursday at the Pétion-Ville National High School, in the presence of CEP President Jacques Desrosiers.

With their national identification cards in hand, several citizens came to register on the CEP electoral roll, Le Nouvelliste observed. For this first phase, operations have been launched in ten Registration and Voting Centers (CIV), including five in Pétion-Ville, three in Delmas and two in Tabarre.
