Donald Trump announced on Thursday that an agreement had been reached on the disarmament of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, one of the key points of the second phase of the U.S. president’s peace plan.

Senior officials from the Palestinian Islamist movement confirmed to AFP that an agreement had been reached “concerning the issue of weapons” and “a gradual withdrawal” of Israeli forces from Gaza.
