Haiti’s U20 national soccer team lost the match it could not afford to lose on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in Mexico.

In the quarterfinals, after a lackluster and unimaginative performance, the U20 Grenadiers were defeated by their Costa Rican counterparts on penalties, 5-3. The two teams were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time and both periods of extra time.
