The Ministry of Defense is organizing a forum on the theme: “What Kind of Army for Haiti?” at the Karibe Hotel, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on August 21, 22 and 23, 2026, Le Nouvelliste has learned. “This event will bring together experts, researchers, representatives of the Armed Forces, civil society actors and other key sectors of national life,” the Ministry of Defense indicated in its invitation to the newspaper. There will be several speakers and workshops.

Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, Defense Minister Mario Andresol, Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences Eugène Pierre Louis, the Rector of the State University of Haiti (UEH), and Dr. Dieusel Prédélus will take part in the forum, whose program suggests that the issue will be addressed in a holistic manner.
