Former Senator Kelly Cledor Bastien, whose political grouping, Delivrans, is among the nine political parties out of 17 that wrote to the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) to express their concerns regarding government interference and the institution’s independence, is calling on the CEP to reconsider certain priorities in the electoral process.

According to the former lawmaker, the CEP must take greater account of the conditions under which voters will be called upon to vote, particularly their ability to travel and their level of participation. He believes these factors are essential to ensuring greater legitimacy for the electoral process.
