In a series of meetings held last week with the government, most of the approved political organizations called for amendments to the electoral decree. The Prime Minister’s Office said the Prime Minister asked the Electoral Council “to provide appropriate responses to the issues raised by the political groupings and parties...”

Several leaders of political organizations contacted by Le Nouvelliste on Monday evening said they had clearly raised, during their meetings with the Prime Minister, the need to amend the electoral decree.
