The National Commission for Disarmament, Dismantlement and Reintegration (CNDDR) organized, on September 4, 2026, at Palm Residence, an information and discussion day on communication mechanisms that could contribute to promoting peace in Haiti, bringing together journalists, institutions and international partners around a common theme: the role and responsibility of the media in promoting peace in Haiti.

CNDDR Coordinator Guerda V. Prévilon set the context directly. “We want to involve the media in everything we are doing to promote peace because we are living through difficult times. Violence is everywhere: in the streets, in homes, in schools. It is everywhere,” she said. The meeting aimed to generate interest among national media and encourage them to actively participate in the CNDDR’s peace promotion campaign, while collectively reflecting on the best mechanisms to put in place.
