The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on Friday to promote a global cartographic representation more faithful to the actual size of the continents, notably enlarging Africa and shrinking the United States.

The text, put forward by Togo and the African Union and co-sponsored by France, was adopted by 164 votes to one, that of the United States, with six abstentions.
