The OAS Secretary General recalled that he had not taken a position on holding elections in Haiti on December 13, 2026, the date set in the CEP’s calendar.

“I do not remember saying, at any point, that we wanted the elections to be held on December 13. In fact, I have always avoided mentioning December 13 as an election date,” the OAS Secretary General stressed during a press conference with journalists from the region on Friday, September 11, 2026.
