André Déjean, trumpeter, composer, and arranger, passed away this Friday, September 11, 2026.
A founding member of the Déjean Brothers, a group formed in the late 1960s, he became one of its creative pillars, helping to make this family band one of the greatest orchestras in the history of compas. He is credited with the composition or arrangement of several classics in the Haitian repertoire. His passing thus deprives the country of one of the major architects of its music.<\/p>
