The members of the new executive board of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) officially took office on Thursday, September 24, 2026. Following changes made in early September, Peterson Pierre-Louis has assumed leadership of the electoral institution.

Although the Electoral Council is awaiting the publication of the revised electoral decree, it is continuing to move forward with the process leading to the organization of elections on December 13. Voter registration, online candidate registration, and the registration of 30,000 members of political organizations, among other activities, are ongoing.
