The ambassador of Spain in Haiti, Marco Peñín Toledano, took advantage of his country's celebration held at the El Rancho hotel to comment on the current situation. The diplomat expressed the hope that the country would be led by an elected president in 2027. "As I just told the Prime Minister, I hope that next year we will have a new President of the Republic by our side, elected democratically," Ambassador Toledano indicated.

The diplomat also outlined the qualities he expects from this elected official. "This president must be a representative of dignity. He must be honorable. He must be respectable. He must reclaim dignity through his example for the Haitian people," the ambassador stated, in the presence of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé and about a hundred guests, including several presidential candidates and former Haitian executive officials.
