In Le Nouvelliste on September 7, 2026, Thomas Lalime refers to an intervention by Frantz Saintellemy at the Global Haitian Diaspora Forum (FOMODA) and raises a pertinent question: will artificial intelligence restore the nobility of manual professions?
I would like to broaden this question. For a young Haitian, knowing which professions will withstand AI is not enough. There is a country to develop. We cannot train young people for professions that are not connected to our reality. Therefore, it is necessary to know which professions technology will create or transform, and which meet a real need in their municipality. That is the intelligence of choice: choosing a profession that their municipality needs.
