Participating in the show Panel Magik on Thursday, October 15, 2026, the Director General of Civil Protection, Emmanuel Pierre, presented the measures implemented to anticipate disasters, evacuate vulnerable populations, and strengthen first aid interventions. He emphasized that the institution continues its efforts to enhance its intervention capabilities in a context marked by the country's environmental vulnerability. According to him, local, communal, and departmental Civil Protection committees are mobilized nationwide to anticipate risks related to climate change and better prepare communities for potential disasters.
When asked about the current reaction capabilities of the institution, Emmanuel Pierre stated that brigades and first aid facilities are available in the most vulnerable municipalities. He also highlighted the importance of early warning systems, which allow for risk anticipation and preparation for interventions while waiting for the implementation of more effective public policies in risk reduction.
