A large protest movement was launched by students of the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences (FDSE) this week. Starting Monday, October 12, 2026, academic activities gave way to banners in the Faculty's premises, located in the former Bojeux building in Pétion-Ville. A small building with 15 classrooms that also serves as a functioning space for two other entities of the State University of Haiti (UEH): the Faculty of Human Sciences (FASCH) and the Institute of African Studies and Research (IERAH).
At the origin of these protest movements, the students denounce the “poor administrative management” of the Faculty. Throughout the week, the final exams that were supposed to take place were interrupted, with no new dates announced. For visitors on the floors occupied by the FDSE, stacked chairs and banners served as a welcoming decoration throughout the week.
