Insecurity undermines cultural spaces, disrupts artistic activities, and threatens the conditions necessary for the transmission of heritage. This is one of the findings at the heart of Jean Emile Paul’s intervention during a conference held this Friday at the Pye Poudre Cultural Center, themed "Patrimwàn fas ak ensekirite an Ayiti" (Heritage facing insecurity in Haiti). This event was part of the organization’s eight-year anniversary. Artist Ricardo Boucher was also invited.
During his speech, Jean Emile Paul advocated for a concept of heritage that goes beyond historical monuments and material goods. Artistic practices, know-how, and creative spaces are also part of a society's cultural wealth. Their preservation requires maintaining the necessary conditions for their transmission and renewal.
