Jerry Tardieu, former deputy of the Pétion-Ville constituency, is the 17th candidate for the presidency in the upcoming elections registered on the online platform of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. "I am a candidate because I carry a national project inspired by a vision of modernity and disruption for Haiti. I am a candidate because I have the experience, skills, and a solid and reliable team to translate this national project into public policies and concrete actions during the next presidential term," said the former president of the constitutional amendment commission of 1987 in the Chamber of Deputies in the last legislature.

The candidate of the political group En avant pour Haïti believes that Haiti needs legitimate leaders, but above all courageous and determined leaders, capable of restoring order in the chaos. "To restore order in this chaos as quickly as possible, Haiti needs legitimate leaders, certainly, but above all courageous and determined ones. The crisis is total. We can no longer pretend to ignore the great drama we are living. Haiti deserves better," he stated in a press release this Wednesday.
