To the sound of a brass band, the funeral of Jean Massillon, mayor of Kenscoff, who passed away on October 9, 2026, was held before a crowd dressed in black and white. The coffin, draped in the national colors, rested near a tribute poster "to our brother and comrade," adorned with flowers.
Clearly emotional, Marie Guerda Desilus, a member of the municipal commission of Kenscoff, paid tribute to someone she described as much more than a colleague. "Your departure affects us not only as a colleague, but also as a partner in a mission that we chose to carry together," she stated. Speaking directly to the deceased, she added: "Mr. Mayor, I know how much security concerned you. How hard you fought for our community to regain peace."
