A workshop themed "Reflect, Innovate and Act for the Development of the City of Les Cayes" was held in Les Cayes from October 21 to 23, 2026, at the initiative of the American University of the Caribbean (AUC), in collaboration with the Les Cayes municipality and Group Croissance S.A. This meeting brought together local authorities, institutional leaders, academics, representatives from the private sector and business, civil society actors, among others, to identify priority actions for the development of the city.

The discussions focused on several issues, including economic development, urban planning, risks and disasters, sanitation, drainage, local finances, and municipal governance. Participants also examined possibilities for strengthening cooperation among local actors to address the challenges facing the city.
