On the occasion of its 21st anniversary, the Director General of the National Book Directorate (DNL), Ernst Saint Louis, reviewed its achievements and presented the challenges it faces in the development of public reading in Haiti. At the heart of this approach are the strengthening of the network of Cultural Reading and Animation Centers (CLAC), the modernization of infrastructure, and the need to facilitate access for young people to books and knowledge.

Founded in 2005 in a context of socioeconomic and institutional crisis, the National Book Directorate celebrates its 21 years of existence this year. This celebration also coincides with the 26th anniversary of the network of Cultural Reading and Animation Centers (CLAC), established in Haiti with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Communication (MCC) and the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).
