The 2026 Goncourt Prize was awarded on Tuesday to Philippe Jaenada for "The Unknown of the Quai de Javel", in which the 62-year-old writer investigates the murder of a young Breton woman in the late 1950s.<\/p>

Philippe Jaenada, who succeeds Laurent Mauvignier, has won a loyal readership with extensive books on criminal cases such as "Sulak" (2013), "La Petite Femelle" (2015), and "La Serpe" (2017).<\/p>
